Many of you will probably recognize the setup of this one, taken from a photograph from Monty Sloan (of Wolf Park). This was a quick and painful painting I did for my husband's birthday, which was somehow completed in a week. He's the black wolf, I'm the brown one :)

This painting is on a 12" diameter drum, deer hide over a pine frame. I was playing around with the horse silhoutte that I made for the 'Aquarelle' series that I did, and I decided to use it to make a few 'painted ponies' on drums. Dec. 2004 This is a custom painted drum commission for Ravynwolf. It is painted on a 12" deer hide drum. It has a really high, sweet tone to it, and it's a drum I have been holding onto for over a year, waiting to find it the right owner. The symbolism of the spiral represents a path, one with a distinct beginning and end, but many curves along the way. It is a very personal-relating symbol. The horse represents strength (standing strong but moving forward), feminine energy, empathy, and emotional wisdom. The blue and water themes are just that; a symbol of life, rejuvination, healing, power, and comfort. The real version is much more vibrant in color and detail

I started this as a sketch challenge and decided it would be fun to ink. 8 months later and its now finished in that aspect. Now I am working on the coloring (digitally). If anyone has any tips for scales and/or fur I'd greatly appreciate it.

"The Night Watch" depicts a winged white lion lit by the stars and the milky way. There are jewels worked into his mane and beautiful blue jewels set into his face to match his wise, knowing eyes. Stars bloom in the sky behind him. He watches you for a moment before he will ghost away in the starlight. ACEO, Mostly Marker with some colored pencil and ink, blue interference paint that doesn't show up at all in the scan. and glitter pens. Shiney!

Ravens are so amazingly cool and wonderful and beautiful and I sure didn't draw this one well. He holds a green glass orb swirling with its own life and symbolism. Ravens like shiny things so away he goes. Is he stealing the life as the hard cold technology rises around him? Will he transplant the life somewhere else? Is he punishing us humans and taking off and leaving us devoid of the only company we have on this planet: the other animals we share our world with? Or did the artist just want to draw something shiny? Your choice, you write the story in your own mind, keep it, share it, whatever you like. That's what art is for, making people who view it think and wonder and imagine. That IS inspiration and the most important thing in art for me.

I created this creature while I was in treatment to represent the addiction in me. I can't say much more than that it represents the frustration my choices created in my life and the agony of knowing that the choice of using again will always be there. I am thinking about incorporating this with my "recovery" critter in a tattoo design I may get eventually. hmmmm

A tanuki/kistsune mixbreed named Sendiri falls slowly into deep clear water...for whatever reason. And for the same reason, cherry blossoms glow blue. Character design is Wolf Nymp's, image done for the Yerf trading post. The lanterns were inspired by the Myst games.

Mordecai, Serafine and Nico. I hadn't done any proper color work with this group yet, so I decided to do a little poster-style illustration involving the three of them. That's not Serafine's usual getup - I suppose she can't pass up the opportunity to get dolled up for a special occasion, though. She's dressed as her personal version of a Voodoo mambo. The image was sketched in pencil and painted with a tablet and Photoshop.

A gift for a friend of mine and very talented artist Kenket! Pyrography on tagua with acrylic highlights. I have never drawn lemurs before, so this was quite a challenge. This pictures is about double the actual size of the pendant, and the colors are a lot softer in person. It's only about 2 inches tall total.
